A beautiful day to-day, jacket  came off on dog walk, and this is mid October, carry on like this and we’ll meet summer after Christmas!.

After lunch I decided I would do some tyding up in the garden, too nice to sit and paint, also I wanted to cover up the pario set, as I can’t see sitting out much longer with tea in the garden, rain forecast to-morrow.

Dead headed and tidied up lots of plants. I’d taken some cuttings of Chrysanthemums last month, and many have taken and are even in flower, the lupin seeds I’d sown back in the spring are also coming on well, and are fine big plants in individual pots.

I cut back the gernaiums and hope to take some cuttings.

I had one solitary sunflower that had self seeded in the lawn, I had been carefully mowing round it for some time, but damn these clumsy dogs were having a hooly and broke it.

The Rudbeckia is beginning to look a bit burnt round the edges so lots of them have been given the chop, I hate cutting flowers down. The Fuschias are still doing well, and a solitary bee was having a drink at one, A lovely Peacock butterfly was feeding on the last of the Budddliea, and typically no camera handy, though I did get a picture of a red damselfly this morning, I’ll upload it when I take it off the camera.

I photographed a couple of wild flowers this morning, nothing special, some mallow, teazel, berries and a lovely dandelion, YES a dandelion, stinky but beautiful.

Talking of wild flowers, I bought a packet in the spring and sowed them in a nice sunny spot in the garden, what a diswappointment, one Cosmo, which does look quite impressive, but nothing else, what a swizz, shan’t be buying them again.

I’m going to have a go at taking cuttings of a rather nice Fuschia that I have. also a lovley deep yellow rose, but I hate these thorns, they’re evil.

Next year I’m planting lots of dahlias.
